FAQs

Every question, answered.

Everything you’d ask on a call — pricing, process, results, and how AI search visibility actually works.

01

The basics

SEO, AEO, GEO, and why AI search visibility matters for B2B.

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO, or Generative Engine Optimization, is the practice of structuring your brand and content so AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and, Google AI cite and recommend you when buyers ask questions. Where SEO optimizes for ranking a page, GEO optimizes for being named inside the AI-generated answer itself.

What's the difference between SEO, AEO, and GEO?

SEO earns rankings in traditional search results. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) structures content to be pulled into direct answers like featured snippets and AI Overviews. GEO earns citations and recommendations inside full AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude.

They share a foundation and work best run together— SEO gets you retrieved, AEO gets you extracted, GEO gets you cited .

Is GEO just a rebrand of SEO?

No. They overlap but optimize for different systems. Google ranks pages based on relevance, links, and on-page signals. AI engines synthesize a single answer and decide whom to cite based on entity clarity, third-party mentions, content structure, and authority.

A brand can rank on page one of Google and still be absent from every AI recommendation in its category. This is exactly the gap GEO closes.

Why does AI search visibility matter for B2B?

Because your buyers are already using AI to research and shortlist vendors before they ever contact sales. A large and growing share of B2B buyers now use AI tools during the purchase process. If an AI assistant answers a category question without mentioning you, you’ve lost the deal before entering consideration, often without ever knowing it happened.

Which AI platforms do you optimize for?

Every surface where AI-generated answers shape discovery: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI. The Google AI spans AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Gemini. They all are powered by the same models, but each cites differently, so we optimize for each. Being visible in one engine doesn’t guarantee the others, so we work across the set, weighted toward the engines your buyers lean on.

02

Services & scope

What we do, how it’s bundled, and how we handle content and authority.

What services does OddScrew offer?

Four connected services: GEO & AI Visibility (getting cited in AI answers), SEO (on-page, off-page, and technical foundations), Content (citable, buyer-intent content built through your experts), and Digital PR & Authority Building (earned mentions and third-party authority). They’re designed to run as one system—authority, structure, and strategy reinforcing each other.

Do I have to buy all four services together?

No. Our retainers combine SEO and GEO because they share a foundation and work best together, but the scope is shaped around your priorities. If your rankings are strong but you’re invisible in AI answers, we weight toward GEO and authority. If your technical foundation is weak, we start there. We scope to what moves your pipeline, not a fixed bundle.

How is this different from what a traditional SEO agency does?

A standard SEO audit doesn’t capture the signals AI engines rely on—citation source quality, entity consistency, content structured for AI retrieval, and third-party mention frequency. Traditional SEO optimizes for how Google ranks pages. We optimize for both how Google ranks and how AI assistants choose whom to cite, and we report on prompts and citations, not just keywords and rankings.

Who do you work with?

B2B companies with product-market fit and real revenue that want measurable visibility across both AI search and Google. AI visibility is built on authority signals—mentions, reviews, category presence— so we work best with companies that have an established footprint to build on, not pre-revenue startups still finding their market. We work with teams that have genuine expertise in their category we can capture into citable authority, and that measure success by pipeline, not vanity traffic.

Do you write the content yourselves, and how do you handle technical topics?

We own strategy, structure and optimization, and we produce content through structured interviews with your subject-matter experts. We don’t pretend to be experts in every niche. No credible agency is.

The depth comes from your team, captured through interviews and shaped into content AI wants to cite. It’s the same SME-interview model every serious B2B content team uses, and it’s what makes content citable rather than generic.

Do you build links? Isn't that risky?

We build authority, and links are one outcome of that—not the goal. Brand mentions correlate more strongly with AI visibility than backlinks do, so we prioritize earned, authoritative mentions and citation context.

We explicitly reject the high-volume, low-authority link model—the “50 links a month” approach carries minimal SEO or AI-citation value and can create risk rather than authority.

03

Pricing & commitment

Costs, minimums, one-off options, and how placements are billed.

How much does it cost?

Our retainers start at $3,000 per month, with tiers scaling by content volume, authority-building intensity, and reporting depth. We also offer a one-time Foundation Sprint for $1,500 and fixed-scope standalone projects like audits and schema work for teams not ready for a retainer.

Every standalone credits toward your first month if you move into a retainer within 30 days. Full details are on our pricing page .

Is there a minimum commitment?

Retainers carry a minimum term because AI citation authority compounds over time and can’t be judged in a single month. Entry tiers start at a six-month minimum, and the top tier at twelve. If you’re not ready to commit to a retainer, the Foundation Sprint and standalone projects are one-time engagements with no ongoing commitment.

What's the Foundation Sprint?

The Foundation Sprint is a one-time engagement that audits your current AI search visibility, fixes the highest-impact technical and entity issues, and gives you a prioritized roadmap. It’s a low-commitment way to start, and its full cost credits against your first month if you move into a retainer within 30 days.

Do you offer one-off projects instead of retainers?

Yes, for work that’s genuinely a fixed-scope job. A Comprehensive AI Visibility Audit (your brand or a named competitor, 50+ prompts across the major engines), a Competitive Gap Closure Sprint (a 30-day push against one named competitor), Revenue Pipeline Attribution (a one-time GA4 dashboard and AI-metric attribution setup), or an Entity & Schema Foundation (structured data and knowledge-graph cleanup so AI engines know who you are). Content and ongoing authority-building aren’t sold as one-offs since they compound over time and belong in a retainer but discrete technical and diagnostic work can stand alone.

How do you price link building and placements?

Earned placements and off-site authority work are billed at cost, never marked up, with a monthly budget range defined by your tier. We’re transparent about what’s spent and where, because authority-building costs vary by target and we’d rather show you the real economics than hide a margin in a link package.

04

Results & measurement

How we measure, how long it takes, and what we can and can’t promise.

How do you measure results?

Against pipeline, not vanity metrics. We track your rankings and traffic, but the numbers that matter are AI citation rate and share of voice across engines, brand-mention frequency, referral traffic from AI tools, and how all of it ties back to pipeline in your CRM. A page that ranks but is never cited or traffic that never converts is only doing half the job.

How long until I see results?

We can see quick technical wins in the first 60 days. Ranking and citation movement by month 3–4. Meaningful pipeline impact happens around month 6–12. This is compounding visibility that gets harder for competitors to displace the longer it runs.

Can you guarantee I'll be cited by ChatGPT or rank #1 on Google?

No credible agency can guarantee specific rankings or citations—they depend on factors outside anyone’s control, including the engines’ own algorithms and competitor activity. What we commit to is the work that reliably moves both, and honest reporting that ties progress to pipeline.

Anyone guaranteeing a #1 ranking or a specific AI citation is selling you something they can’t control.

What does reporting look like?

You get regular reporting that shows shipped work, not just dashboards: what was published or fixed, which placements were earned, how your citations and share of voice moved across AI engines, and how it maps to pipeline. The cadence depends on your tier—monthly on entry tiers, more frequently on higher ones—and it’s written to be understandable, not a wall of vanity charts.

Will this help my traditional Google rankings too?

Yes. Much of the work AI visibility requires is exactly what Google rewards too: clean crawlability, structured data, entity clarity, quality content, and authoritative mentions. Strong SEO is the foundation good GEO is built on, so the two reinforce each other rather than competing for budget.

05

Getting started

How to begin, what we need from you, and who you’ll work with.

How do we get started?

Start with a discovery call and a free AI Visibility Audit—a quick read on which queries currently cite you, which cite your competitors, and where the winnable gaps are. If you want the full picture, the standalone Comprehensive AI Visibility Audit goes deeper: 50+ prompts across the major engines, delivered as a shareable report. From there we scope an engagement—a Foundation Sprint, a standalone project, or a retainer around your priorities and budget. There’s no obligation to continue after the audit.

What do you need from us to run an engagement?

Access to the people who know your product and buyers for periodic subject-matter interviews, access to your site and analytics, and a clear picture of your priority queries and competitors. The more access we have to your expertise, the more citable the content—the single biggest factor in whether AI treats you as a source worth quoting.

Where is OddScrew based, and who will I work with?

OddScrew operates under MNRK Technologies LLP, based in New Delhi, India, and works with B2B companies across English-language markets worldwide. Engagements are led directly by the founder, so the people you talk to are the people running the work, not an account layer between you and delivery.
